so good to see you

Colin who?

I’m Colin Woodward, a watercolour artist whose practice centres on the quiet, atmospheric spaces where memory and landscape meet. My work explores light, tone, and the emotional resonance of place — creating paintings that invite viewers to pause, reflect, and reconnect with moments that feel both intimate and universal.Rooted in formal training in Fine & Applied Art, my approach blends disciplined technique with a sensitivity to mood and narrative. Each piece is crafted to hold presence: a balance of subtlety, structure, and expressive mark‑making that rewards slow looking.Collectors and students alike are drawn to the calm, contemplative quality of my work — paintings that don’t simply depict a scene, but evoke a feeling worth returning to.

( And if that’s all too Arty-Farty for you - I’m 46, I’m a family man and a church pastor who loves Jesus, loves people and I love places; when I paint I feel Peace and experience Joy and i’d love to talk with you! )

Painting Places

Making art that’s a doorway from the places we’ve been, to the people we met there, and the moments that make up our lives.

Capturing the feel of a place, connecting you back to significant moments in a gentle illustrative painting style of somewhere that means something to you
